School Bus for Disabled Children

 

Project Overview:

This project, funded by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) under their CSR initiatives, addressed the critical need for accessible transportation for disabled children in rural Jodhpur. The project provided a dedicated school bus to ensure these children could access education without the barriers posed by distance and lack of suitable transport.

Project Impact:

The provision of the school bus has had a transformative impact on the lives of the 35 beneficiary children and their families. It has:

• Improved Access to Education: The bus has enabled disabled children, who previously faced significant transportation challenges, to attend school regularly. This has opened up opportunities for learning, development, and social inclusion.
• Reduced Burden on Families: The project has alleviated the burden on families who often struggled to transport their disabled children to school, sometimes sacrificing work or other essential activities.
• Increased Social Inclusion: By facilitating regular school attendance, the bus has fostered greater social inclusion for the children, allowing them to interact with their peers and participate in school activities.
• Promoted Independence: The dedicated transport has instilled a sense of independence in the children, empowering them to overcome physical limitations and pursue their education.

The successful completion of this project has significantly improved the lives of disabled children in the targeted villages and created a more inclusive and equitable educational environment.
